It's a new year!

In 2013, I moved 14 hours and almost 1000 miles away from home. I actually took the leap and moved from Kentucky to Florida after lusting for state relocation for years. It was scary to say the least. I was leaving my family, my friends, and my comfort zone. However, I knew it was time for a change. So I saved up every penny I earned, researched cities, and in May 2013 I took that leap of faith.

I don't regret moving. In fact, I wish I had only moved sooner. I have met some amazing people here, experienced awesome adventures, and even had the opportunity to attend siminars/events that would not of been possible in my past location. 2013 was the year I took a leap of faith and landed on solid ground.

In 2014, I have already been given the nudge I needed to leap out on faith again. This week, I said farewell to my job of 3 years. I am happy for the opportunity, knowledge and experience given to me from my marketing job, however, I was not happy there (for sometime now) and deep down I knew it was time for me to pursue my passions.

I will finally be able to focus  full-time on my passions and aspirations. This is what I needed to focus my time on the important things in life such as my health, my business, my youtube channel, my growth as an individual, and contributing to other people in meaningful ways.

I have a notebook of ideas and goals that has been collecting dust for the past year. It's finally time for me to open that book again and start executing my goals. Now that I have the time, I will be uploading a lot more beauty youtube videos. I will also be focusing on my health & lifestyle channel (one of my many passions after losing 30lbs last year!), blogging, and expanding my small business. I'm ready for my newest adventure.

""When you come to the end of all the light you know, and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: Either you will be given something solid to stand on or you will be taught to fly."

DIY Distressed Studded White Shorts

So I have been yearning for a pair of high waisted distressed studded jeans for a very long time now (okay, a few months but still that's a long time to me!) I seen a few pair on esty generally priced for $40-$75 and I just couldn't stomach the idea of paying $40 for a pair of jeans that I know wouldn't cost more than $10 to make. So last week I went to a thrift store and scored some high waisted white jeans for  $4. As soon as I put the jeans on, I knew that me and these jeans had the potential to be besties.

I didnt find any studs at the craft stores near and me sadly, there is no hobby lobby where I live (arggggggg, I love hobby lobby too!) so I had to go on ebay and purchase studs and spikes which took about 2-3 days to receive. I also scored some pretty awesome sandpaper from the dollar store for a mere $1 *ching ching*

I cut up the jeans, studded them up, and sanded them for a bit of a distressed look. As expected, me and these jeans are now besties. I can't wait to wear them out!

Before:

After:

The back was quite boring so I added an old cross necklace I had sitting around. I just pinned it to the back and added a few studs/spikes!

I have 2 more pairs and will attempt to make a video on these DIY denim jeans sometime soon. Bleached distressed studded high waisted jeans? Sounds like a good idea to me!

Let's add everything up:
$4 (jeans at the thrift store)
$1 (sandpaper)
$3 Studs/spikes on ebay
---------
$8

Homemade DIY Clip-in Bangs

So last night while looking at Beyonce's new GQ cover, I got inspired! Her bangs and bun look is nothing new and she has done it many times before (along with other celebrities). However, I'm in dire need of some winter protective style and this one looks so easy!

...except I have one problem. I don't have bangs and no desire to cut my real hair!

So whats a girl to do?

Clip in bangs! All you need is some old hair wefts, weave glue (to glue the wefts together), clip ins, a needle and thread (to sew the clipins to the wefts) and some sissors to cut!

Va-voom! Instant bangs!

The front of the DIY fringe clip in bangs

The back with the clip ins. Make sure to fold the 3rd piece over so the wefts don't show.

Bangs and Bun! No sewing or gluing
Hair inspired!
So what do you guys think? You-tube video tutorial worthy? I can't lie, I'm feeling all snazzy in my bangs right now.
